If Windy Dare's testimony was the Titanic; Mark Dare's performance on the stand is the Hindenburg

Mark Dare has been late a few times and barely making it to court. This afternoon, he was late, again. Judge Kaleb Cockrum told him to be conscientious of the time.

Dare took the stand in his own case. It was a mistake. He is a disaster on the stand. This is during direct question by his attorney, Public Defender Marek Reavis.

Judge Cockrum sustained several objections by Deputy District Attorney Whitney Timm that Dare was unresponsive.

He could not focus despite Mr. Reavis' attempts to try and take his ramblings and get some coherent answers. There were a couple exceptions mid afternoon. I don't know if he is exhausted or on  something. If Windy Dare's testimony was the Titanic; Mark Dare's performance on the stand is the Hindenburg.

His responses were,"I think so", "I'm not sure" or "I can't remember."

Right after he testified he had one phone conversation with Winder, then he said there was another, then rambled on about another defense witness, Joseph Williams, who also knows Winder and a sandwich he offered to Winder at a sporting event.

He mixed up Jane Doe #1 and Jane Doe #2 and said both their real names several times during the testimony.

If this is during direct, how will he survive cross examination?

The jury saw Jane Doe #, Jane Doe #2, Dennis Winder testify. They saw Windy Dare testify. Now they are hearing from Mark Dare.

Dare continued the strategy his wife used which is to blame Winder and Winder's girlfriend for the strained relationship between Jane Doe #1, Jane Doe #2, Windy and Mark Dare.

Mark Dare referring to the time that Winder threatened to kill him if Mark Dare touched his daughters and did "anything wrong" said that he "responded likewise."

Asked about the bedtime routine, Dare gave what was one of his more organized answers.

"It was a lot like the others said, " Mark Dare said. Then a series of statements: "They called me to rub their backs." "I just didn't go in there and inflict myself." "I was pacing the floor." "I was sleep deprived." "If I fell asleep." "They asked for three little pigs."

"Then they didn't call me in anymore," he said. Mark Dare said "this was less frequent after Mattaniah was born." He said "early on they called him in every night." Then he went off and started talking about work and it raining.

This corroborates the testimony of Jane Doe #1 and Jane Doe #2. Both said Mark Dare molested them while Windy Dare was pregnant. Jane Doe #2 said the molestation stopped after her younger brother was born.

He said he did receive phone calls from work while he was in the girls' bedroom. Again, corroborating Jane Doe #2 'stestimony that he received a phone call from work while he was molesting her.

He corroborated Jane Doe #2's testimony again. She testified he crawled into her bunk bed and it was metal and it creaked. Mark Dare said he climbed into Jane Doe #2's bunk, twice. "It was rickety. I don't think Windy was there when I did it."

Jane Doe #1 said he kneeled by her bed while he performed oral sex. Mark Dare said he did not get into the lower bunk "because I would have kneeled down."

Mark Dare added,"They asked me to lay with them. I didn't do what they are asking."

He denied being in the bathroom with either girl. He said he did tell Jane Doe #2 to calm down but never said, "That calmed you down, didn't it?"

Mark Dare that said Windy Dare's mother found out her molestation "through this."
