"Two abandoned camps totaling 2300 lbs of trash were removed"

"Earlier this week, the Eureka Police Department's Community Safety Engagement Team (CSET) and Uplift Eureka partnered to clean up a greenbelt area near Bayshore Way.  The clean up was in response to numerous complaints of trash, theft, and vandalism in the area.  Two abandoned camps totaling 2300 lbs of trash were removed. "

"Prior to the clean up, CSET and Uplift made numerous attempts to provide resources and outreach to those occupying the area, but were mostly met with resistance.  It is also important to note that this type of camping is not in line with the CDC's guidelines for sheltering in place. "

"Partnerships and clean ups like these are possible thanks to #MeasureZ."
