John Michael Sheridan booked on attempted murder charges
On September 21, 2020, at about 8:51 p.m., Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a residence on the 11400 block of Dyerville Loop Road in Myers Flat for the report of a gunshot victim.
Upon arrival to the residence, deputies located a 47-year-old male victim outside with a gunshot wound to his upper body. Inside the residence deputies located the suspect, 54-year-old John Michael Sheridan, sitting on a couch. Sheridan was taken into custody without incident.
The victim was transported to a local hospital in serious condition.
Through their investigation deputies learned that the victim and Sheridan knew each other and had been spending time together that evening. At some point during that time, a disagreement occurred resulting in Sheridan reportedly shooting a firearm, injuring the victim.
Sheridan was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on charges of attempted murder (PC 664/187(a)).
This case is still under investigation. More information will be released when available and appropriate.
