Windy Dare stands by her man and kicks her daughters to the curb

The People's expert witness finished testifying this morning.

Defense started their case by calling Windy Dare on the stand.

Of all the sexual abuse cases I have covered, there have only been two cases where the mothers have added to the pain of their children's victimization. Those two cases are Seng Yang and the Mark Dare case.

To date, no child molestor in the cases I have covered said they were guilty. They all wanted their day in court, despite the evidence.

Every single one was convicted or pleaded guilty. Chad Smith, Yang, John Beideman, Cory Fisher to name a few.

There was only one case that was the exception. That case was James Colby. His attorney was former Deputy Conflict Counsel Kaleb Cockrum; now the Judge presiding over this jury trial. Former Deputy District Attorney Luke Brownfield, now a Deputy Public Defender prosecuted the case. The jury came back in three hours. I watched the testimony. Colby had an excellent attorney. I believed the children.

If you have been following the coverage of this case through the trial and if you read the coverage of the preliminary hearing, the gist of Windy Dare's testimony is basically Mark Dare is a saint; she can't recall some stuff and her daughters are liars. She didn't specifically call them liars but by her testimony contradicting everything her daughters have said that would result in Mark Dare getting a conviction; that is what she is doing.

Except for acknowledging something like Mark Dare rubbing Jane Doe # 2's back while putting the girls to sleep which is not harmful to her husband's case in any way, Windy Dare's testimony is about a Mark Dare that told "silly stories."

The bunk bed couldn't support an adult. The door to the room was open the night Jane Doe #1 said Mark Dare jerked her by the arm. Windy Dare saw no bruises. Jane Doe #1 didn't mention anything.

Right after she finished testifying that she questioned her daughters about why were they saying things that didn't happen, Windy Dare testified she just wanted them to tell the truth. This was when CWS was investigating the physical abuse allegation. To Eindy Dare, the incident was a non issue.

In the afternoon, we learned that Windy Dare had been molested as a child. She said "both molestations" and that her husband Mark Dare and ex husband Dennis Winder were aware of "both molestations." It was not clear if this meant twice or two different people. This is the first time two molestations were mentioned by Windy Dare.

Windy Dare did not recall telling Jane Doe #2 about her own molestation. Jane Doe #2 testified about Windy Dare telling her about being molested by her brother.

Public Defender Marek Reavis spent more time talking about irrelevant stuff aimed to diminish the alleged victims and make Mark and Windy Dare seem like these great parents. Their actions say otherwise.

We heard about an incident where there was an argument between Jane Doe #1 and Jane Doe #2 and Mark Dare because he felt ignored that they did not respond to him making a remark about the moon.

Windy Dare's excuse for not getting involved in these arguments between Mark Dare and her daughters. She did not want to escalate the situation. She shared her observations with Mark Dare and her daughters later.

Mark Dare does not like being ignored. I know that and you do if you read the post where I had to get the court clerks attention and tell the Judge because I was following proper protocol.

Are we to believe Windy Dare that Mark Dare was in her young daughters' room late at night to check on Jane Doe's phone? At least, Windy Dare acknowledged he was in their room late at night.

Dennis Winder never bad mouthed Windy Dare and he was very gracious in his testimony about Mark Dare considering the circumstances. Windy Dare trashed Winder and his girlfriend.

Mr. Reavis asked Windy Dare a ridiculous question about Jane Doe #1 and Jane Doe #2's pain threshold.

Mr. Reavis, there is a difference between a child complaining about a scrape on the knee and not feeling comfortable telling her mother that stepfather is molesting her, especially when the mother consistently choses her husband.

It is just as stupid as your question about the CAST interviews. A young girl in a room with a professional female forensic investigator who makes her feel safe and respected will testify in a different demeanor than she will in a room full of strangers about graphic, intimate details. Deputy District Atttorney Whitney Timm did a good job of handling questioning sensitively. She does have a case to prove and the burden of proof.

Would you, an adult, like to testify about your sex life in front of strangers?

You got your client out of custody, dragged this case out for almost three years. The facts are your client has a prior conviction for domestic violence and substance abuse. Even you and his own wife haven't challenged the verbal abuse.

Hopefully, this pathetic little, weak man will add a conviction for child molestation to his criminal record.

An innocent man would have wanted a speedy trial. A man who fears the Lord would hang his head in shame; not crack jokes in court while facing serious allegations.
