Kaitlyn Bryson, daughter of local attorney Kathleen Bryson, contradicted her mother's testimony
Mark Dare's jury trial was busy with several witneses today, the first Zoom witness in the case and a key ruling at the end of the day by Judge Kaleb Cockrum to unseal two documents in the file that contains the search warrant.
"It wouldn't be 2020 without a Zoom witness", Judge Kaleb Cockrum said. The trial may not take as long as expected, said Judge Cockrum, cautioning it is early in the case.
Kaitlyn Bryson, daughter of local attorney Kathleen Bryson contradicted some of her mother's testimony. Kaitlyn Bryson testified via Zoom and was the last witness of the day. The discrepancy was about subsequent conversations after Jane Doe #2 made the disclosure to Kaitlyn and Kathleen Bryson. Kaitlyn Bryson is the only witness, so far, not subject to recall.
Basketball coach Reuben Davis, who Jane Doe #1 first disclosed to, is not someone who should be in any position. Davis seems more concerned about saving his job and himself with the immunity agreement he signed with the DA. What part of mandated reporter did he not undetstand? Davis should have helped Jane Doe #2. In contrast, her teacher James Crenshaw, handled the situation the way a compassionate and respectful adult would.
Witnesses testifying today corroborated Jane Doe #1 and Jane Doe #2's testimony.
