Defense subpoenas records from St. Joseph Hospital in Chad Smith's jury trial

Trial confirmation is scheduled on June 12 in the third jury trial for alleged molestor Chad Smith.

According to court records, on May 28, the defense has subpoenaed records from St. Joseph hospital.

Twice, there has been a mistrial declared in this case. The first time, Smith's public defender declared a conflict during jury selection. The second time, it was a hung jury for 13 charges; the jury found Smith guilty of three other charges.

The three guilty verdicts were all for misdemeanor violations of restraining orders. Smith was charged with a fourth violation of a restraining order but the jury found him not guilty on that count. Smith had already admitted to violating the restraining orders.

The prosecutor for the case is Deputy District Attorney Stacey Eads. Ms. Andrea Sullivan was court appointed to represent Smith.
