Samsung camera and cellphone mounted over the bed among electronics seized from Seng Yang's residence


On January 5, 2018, Eureka Police Detective Richard Bise was notified by EPD Sgt. Rodrigo Sanchez to contact Officer Michael Huynh. This was around 11:30 a.m. Det. Bise had brief interaction with Jane Doe and her sister in the EPD interview room.



After determining there was probable cause, Det. Bise briefed Captain Patrick O'Neill who directed him to write a search warrant for the Prospect Street residence.

Captsin O'Neill, Sgt. Sanchez, Officer Rabang, Officer Christiansen snd Det. Bise served the search warrant. Seng Yang and Kristy Lee were at the residence.

Part of the search warrant covered Yang and his residence. A wallet and cell phone was "removed from Yang'" and later booked into evidence. The cell phone was a Samsung Galaxy 5. That phone was identified by Det. Bise in court and admitted into evidence.

Photos of the exterior and interior of the residence were taken. Det. Bise identified photos including a photo of the bed in the master bedroom, a Samsung camera mounted to the wall in the master bedroom. The mount was adjustable and smaller cameras or a cellphone could be attached to the mount. A Samsung cellphone had been mounted over the bed.

Other items seized included USB drives, a SIM card, a marijuana dispensary card issued to Seng Yang, DVDs, a camcorder and a voice recorder."
