Due to intensive cancer treatment and Max Hadley's passing, David Kobak's jury trial rescheduled

Trial confirmation and motion to continue murder suspect David Kobak's jury trial was scheduled for May 13. Jury trial scheduled for June 10 was vacated. Motion to continue was granted. Trial setting is on June 5.

The victim was Kobak's roommate, Frederick William Loftus.

It was scheduled in the morning but continued to this afternoon since Kobak had a doctor's appointment in the morning.

Deputy District Attorney Whitney Timm is the prosecutor on the case. Deputy Public Defender Casey Russo is Kobak's attorney.

Mr. Russo told Judge John Feeney that  Ms. Max Hadley  passed away recently", the new investigator has to get caught up with the case and re-take certain statements.

"I just learned recently that Mr. Kobak is undergoing intensive cancer treatment every morning for 41 days."

No other media was in court this afternoon.

Ms. Timm said, " The People are ready to proceed. The case was continued seven months ago." Ms. Timm said she had not received anything from the defense. Mr. Russo said that was also due to Ms. Hadley's passing.
