"All I can think of is you two sleeping together."

After his interview with Seng Yang, Eureka Police Department Senior Detective Ron Harpham went to his apartment on Prospect Street, did a walkthrough and a short interview with Yang's wife, Kristy Lee.

Det. Harpham described the apartment, explained how he obtained the search warrants and the chain of custody regarding items examined by former DA Investigator Martin Perrone.

Det. Harpham was shown People's Exhibits 49 to 52 and he testified about them. Exhibit 43 was Yang's cell phone. Det. Harpham reviewed the forensic extraction report prepared by Mr. Perrone. There were text messages and video files of "prohibitive value."

There were objections made by Deputy Public Defender Luke Brownfield, addressed by Deputy District Attorney Stacey Eads and Judge John Feeney made a ruling on those objections.

I am not going to go into detail about each ruling. One of the objections by defense was stating who the messages were from and instead saying it was sent from this person's Facebook account or phone. Other messages it had been previously established who they were from and specific names could be used. There was a lot of testimony today and to keep things simple, I am just going to say Yang or Lee or Jane Doe.

Det. Harpham said that Exhibit 49 was arguments between Yang and Lee. He was asked to read the messages by defense.

The messages below are from Nov 11,2017.

Yang: "Fuck you bitch. I've been thinking about what I should have done to you. You deserve fucking shit bitch."

Yang: "Get ready to be six feet under."

Yang: "I would come right now."

Yang: "Chose your place."

Yang: "Fuck you bitch."

Yang: "Fuck you asshole."

Yang: "This is how your fucking day to be."

Then Yang sent a text message about another man and Lee.

Yang: "Why you fucking act like this bitch?"

Yang: "I don't fucking care anymore."

Tons more messages calling Lee a "bitch."

Yang told Lee she can be with "the person in her heart."

Lee: "Shit."

Lee: "So, I am still mad."

Lee: "All I can think of is you two sleeping together."

Det. Harpham then read messages that started on January 3,2018. These were on Lee's phone.

Lee: "I had this crazy dream last night."

Lee: "So crazy."

Yang: "What? You know I like crazy."

Yang:" Going to be crazy tonight."

Lee: "It was like I was a sex slave.

Lee: "To your uncle and a rich guy."

Yang: "Yeah, do you love it?"

Lee: "OMG, it was crazy."

Lee: "Will tell you tonight."

Yang: "I will show you tonight."

Lee: "Okay."

Yang: Leave light on so you can see and then off. I can eat her pussy" and then said something he would do to Lee.

Lee: "No."

Lee: "Coming."

Yang: "It be so good."

Yang: "I talked to her yesterday. Everything good."

Lee: "No."

Lee: "I'm not ready."

Lee: "Stop being so gay."

Yang: "Just act like you were asleep."

Lee: "I think we need to stop.,"

Yang: "Yes, we can do that."

Lee: "Just so you know I am not interested."

Lee tells Yang she "doesn't like crazy like that". Yang professes his love for Lee and begs Lee to "do it" for him.

Yang tells Lee"to go with the flow."

Lee: "I know you already have it planned."

Det. Harpham said there was consistency between these messages and messages found on Jane Doe's phone. Exhibit 52 are pictures of messages from Jane Doe's phone.

  1. Hello John.
I want to thank you on behalf of the Hmong Community for covering this case, for being our eyes and ears and continuously updating every one as we as a community continue to rally and support Jane Doe. The Community and I are very curious too whether the monster Kristy Lee will be charge or are there any charges against her as we truly there are and that she will not be walking free from this. Please do update us.

    1. Unknown, thank you for your comment. Kristy Lee signed an immunity agreement with the District Attorney's Office. There are no charges filed against her and because of the agreement,I doubt that charges will be filed. I and many others agree with you that she walked free.

Seng Yang was legally held accountable but with the coverage of the case, both of them have been exposed in the community. The shame and stigma is something both Seng Yang and Kristy Lee will have to deal with their whole life.
