Man traveling from Louisiana to Alaska gives a shout out to EPD officer Nicholas Dalby

"All hail officer Nicholas Dalby of the Eureka, CA Police Department. He responded in five minutes to the report of my stolen smart phone. He was kind, courteous, professional  and amazingly empathetic after learning of my circumstances travelling from Louisiana. "

"His thoroughness was extraordinary. He reviewed the video as well as interviewed another customer. He was treating my case like I was a friend in need, not like a stranger who lost his phone to a petty thief that might likely never be recovered. He recognized the gentleman sitting at the table next to me as someone he had dealt with before and knew where he hung out. Officer Dalby disabuse me of false hope that my phone would be found but he promised me to try. "

"I said I would hang around a while. He came back 15 minutes later to tell me he could not locate the suspect. But Officer Dalby was not deterred in his promise to serve and protect. Twenty minutes later he walked in and had my phone. He was nothing short of dogged in helping me. His caring about me and his unwillingness to give up is testament to his character and his service.
