"Sir, that is enough", family member chastised three times during Andrew Cunningham's sentencing

The real story from this morning took place during victim impact statements. Stephen Simpson, parent to one of the Jane Does had to be chastised three times by Judge Kaleb Cockrum and once by the bailiff for his behavior, language and threats in court towards Cunningham and his attorney, Mr. Michael Robinson.

Judge Cockrum had to state twice that this was court. While he understood the emotion, Judge Cockrum said the language and threats were not okay .

If you have read my regular coverage of this case, this isn't Simpson's first outburst and this isn't the first threat made against Mr. Robinsin or others in and outside court.

I am not going to link all those posts again nor go into the research I have done on the adults in this case. They need to be grateful they got a stipulated prison sentence and Cunningham waived his right to appeal.

Stephen Simpson owed Cunningham money. There is a in to this case in previous coverage.

If this case had gone to trial, the outcome would not have been guaranteed.

Today, should have been about the victims in this case but as demonstrated by the self centered behavior and drama by the adults in this case all along, the two statements that were read in court and Simpson, the Jane Does were barely mentioned. It was all about the adults and we sat through a lengthy step parent' s regurtitation of unverified information. There was a preliminary hearing covered in detail.

I have researched the adults in this case. At least one of them is related to a frequent flier and I didnt need to research court records  The adults do not in any way minimize what the children endured but these adults should be grateful that the justice system worked for the children despite all the adults misdirecting their anger at eceryone else.

Every sex abuse or molestation case is horrific. However, if family members in the Mario Alexander case, the Cory Fisher case, the Seng Yang case and several other cases have managed to convey emotion and pain without making criminal threats repeatedly in court.
