Danny Waters preliminary hearing rescheduled to May 28 due to courtroom availability



Preliminary hearing for Danny Waters who is charged with attempted murder, criminal threats and assault on his own family members was scheduled for this morning.

Count 1 is attempted murder, victim Donald Waters. Count 2 Criminal threats resulting in great bodily injury or death, victim Patricia Waters. Count 3 Assault with a firearm, victim Donald Waters.

Only one courtroom was available for preliminary hearings today. There was not enough time to complete his hearing today. Waters was willing to waive his right to a continuous preliminary hearing if it could be completed tomorrow. That was not possible.

EPD Officer Omey is one witness. The People have at least two other witnesses.

Intervention is scheduled for May 22. Preliminary hearing for May 28.

Deputy District Attorney Joel Buckingham was in court for the People. Water's attorney is Deputy Public Defender Brie Bennett.
