With no reasons stated in open court, People ask to continue Patrick McTigue's jury trial

Former Humboldt County Building and Planning Department employee Patrick McTigue's jury trial scheduled for May 17 was vacated.

There were no reasons stated in open court and I  contacted Deputy DA Steven Steward.  He told me there were a few reasons. "Mr. Russo and I are working out discovery issues to make sure that he and I got everything from Neil Sanders. There is some ongoing investigation on my part."

There was no opposition by defense to the motion. Deputy Public Defender Casey Russo is McTigue's attorney. A time waiver was entered today but may be withdrawn in the future. Trial setting is on May 26.

Mr. Steward told Judge Timothy Canning the case may resolve.
