Dates reset in Ulisses Rodriguez trial due to difficulty of getting jurors during the holiday season

Dates had been set at the last hearing for murder suspect Ulisses Rodriguez. Time estimate for the trial is 5 weeks.

The court clerk calendared the trial today so the jury trial could be reset after the holidays as it would be difficult to get jurors during the holiday season. The court clerk may have calendared the hearing but this kind of decision is made at Presiding Judge level, CEO level and most likely by Court Operations Manager Kelly Nyberg.

This is the kind of useless time wasted by Humboldt Superior Court. When the original time estimate dates were set, they knew it was during the holidays.

Pre trial to see if case can be resolved is still on October  18;  Trial confirmation on November 15 and jury trial on December 6 was vacated. Trial confirmation was rescheduled for January 4; jury trial for January 10.
