Lt. Camilli is the first female in 20 years to hold this position

 


The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce the promotion of Correctional Sergeant Chelsey Camilli to the rank of Sheriff’s Lieutenant. In her new role, Lt. Camilli will oversee all personnel working in the Correctional Facility housing units.

“Lt. Camilli has exemplified the mission of the Sheriff’s Office through her compassionate and professional service as a Correctional Sergeant,” Humboldt County Sheriff William Honsal said. “I am excited to have Lt. Camilli on our leadership team to assist with bringing innovative solutions to the ongoing challenges within the Correctional Facility.”  

Lt. Camilli began her career with the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office in 2008 as a Correctional Deputy in the Humboldt County Correctional Facility. Lt. Camilli was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2019 and began her new role as Lieutenant today, May 17, 2021. Camilli is the first female to hold the Correctional Lieutenant title in the last 20 years for the facility.

“I feel very proud to be accepting this role with the Sheriff’s Office and I look forward to helping bring positive change and growth within our Correctional Facility,” Lt. Camilli said.

During her 13 years with the department, Lt. Camilli has been actively involved in community outreach and facility improvement projects. Lt. Camilli has been a member of the Sheriff’s Office Gang Resource Intelligence Team (GRIT) since 2018, and in her new role will become the team’s commander. She has also been an active member of the Sheriff’s Office’s Recruitment Team and Social Media Outreach Team. In her free time, Lt. Camilli has also lent a hand at the county’s Animal Shelter as a volunteer Animal Care Attendant.

The Sheriff’s Office looks forward to Lt. Camilli’s continued leadership in her new role and extends a heartfelt congratulations.
