Convicted felon Robert Cullen's attorney Michael Acosta was a no show. Clerk in Courtroom 3 emailed Mr. Acosta. 45 minutes later, Retired Judge John Feeney continued the hearing to tomorrow.
Acosta was signed on to Zoom later at 9:30. He appeared via Zoom in another courtroom later.
5/27: Acosta apologized for not being in court yesterday. Cullen was arraigned on a new case. Preliminary hearing was waived for that new case. Charges are Count 1 possession of a controlled substance with a firearm; Count 2 possession of a firearm after a felony conviction; Count 3 manufacturing a large capacity magazine and a special allegation that commission of these crimes occurred while out on OR/bail.
Trial confirmation in one of Cullen's cases is on June 9; jury trial on June 21. Mr. Acosta said he will file a motion to continue, if neccessary. Deputy District Attorney Candace Myers also may file a motion for continuance based on witness' schedules.
