Bye bye masks in most settings when California reopens

Bye bye masks, tier restrictions and physical distancing.

California Governor Newsom says that the state is expected to end mask requirements in most settings on June 15th. This is the same date California tier restrictions are slated to be lifted and the state is expected to reopen.

Regarding masks, Newsom said there will be no mandate except "in those settings that are indoor -- only in those massively large settings where people around the world, not just around the country, are convening, and when people are mixing in real dense spaces. Otherwise, we'll make guidance recommendations, but no mandates and no restrictions on businesses large and small."

Under a proposed update to California's COVID 19 safety rules, workers will not be required to physically distance themselves from each other at workplaces beginning August.

Fully vaccinated workers will not be required to wear face coverings when they are outdoors and don’t have COVID symptoms.

Workers do not have to wear face coverings indoors if they and everyone around them in a room are fully vaccinated and do not have symptoms of the coronavirus.
