Court livestreams down this morning

Why is it that Humboldt County and the Courts have more technical issues with remote proceedings? There have always been issues with  and all you get is excuses from the Supervisors and silence from court administration.

Also pronouncements like no dark days are meaningless because they are subject to the whims of what suits Humboldt court administration, like today. Another example of the disrespect for jurors and their time.

If you had court this morning and were appearing by livestream or if you have a family member in custody, court livestreams were  down. I don't know if cases are proceeding without livestream in certain courts. Calendars are running late.

Thanks to an excellent court tech department, all courtrooms were up by 11:30 a.m.

Livestream screens are on and off all morning. No camera, brief audio.

There will be some delays, especially with two jury trials going through jury selection. Court tech got livestreams up and looks like they are busy.

In the meantime, the court operations manager is just sitting in  courtroom 4 as if this is just another normal day. Why?

At 8:30, Courtroom 5 called a couple of cases and then log on screen with the rest of the calendar ?Courtroom 6 was working around 8:30

As of 9:50 a.m. Courtrooms 1 and 3 screenshots above. Courtroom 5 and 8 were not in session. As of 10 a.m. only 2 and 4 are working. At 10:15 more changes with other courtrooms on; others with log on screens.

Some courtrooms had no log on screen and some had a log on screen a few minutes after 9. Four started a few minutes after 9. Courtroom 2 around 9:30.

Whatever the glitch is, whether it is You Tube, Zoom but more than often it is the county server when there are such issues; court tech is busy.

I raised some issues yesterday in this post. I doubt that Humboldt Superior Court will have the decency to issue why this is happening And if they do, it will be because of my posts.

Court by Zoom has not worked and does not work in Humboldt. It is time for the Court admin, Public Health and County Supervisors to figure out a solution because the infrastructure in this small, rural Courthouse does not work.

I have been hearing for years from Rex that county servers will be updated. The money should come from cutting costs and salaries of the people in charge who should have fixed thess problems.

Experts, interpreters, people appearing have other things to do. Another example of overpaid top government employees collecting paychecks and not resolving problems. They would not cut it in a private industry but in Humboldt and California they get rewarded for incompetence.
