"It is unfortunate that we have a court reporter out ill and very little room"

 

Preliminary hearing for murder suspect Connor Whited was rescheduled for February 16. Resetting of preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 18.  

"It is unfortunate that we have a court reporter out ill and very little room," said Judge Kaleb Cockrum. There are at least four other cases with no time waived before Whited, also scheduled for today, and they will be called at 1:30 today. 

A previous two day estimate was adjusted to a day; day and a half by the People. 

Deputy Conflict Counsel April Van Dyke is Whited's attorney. Deputy District Attorney Luke Bernthal appeared on the case for the People.
