Gregory Taggart gets arrested a lot. I have seen him in court. I have seen him on the street. He is usually drunk. I am aware of his criminal history and him being in the local foster system.
There are probably as many opinions about him as his cases in the system. Taggart kept interrupting in court while his attorney was talking.
Fortunately for Taggart, Deputy Conflict Counsel April Van Dyke is patient, compassionate and calmly answered his question about "what was going on" referencing to what they talked about privately preventing him from jeopardizing his legal interest in court.
Before Taggart spoke, Ms. Van Dyke was telling Judge Kaleb Cockrum that Deputy District Attorney Luke Bernthal wanted to continue their discussions and she was making a request for the hearing to be rescheduled.
Deputy DA Jessica Acosta confirmed that Mr. Bernthal was okay with the request and that he was "willing to potentially stipulate to a mental health diversion."
