Darin Ward had retained Mr. Arlie Capps as his attorney. Ward had been given the date of February 16 for arraignment when he was released from custody.
Ward is a Trump supporter. Prior to his arrest, Ward was featured on TV for his cross country trip on a bus. "Trump won! Follow me to D.C."
In January, Ward was arrested after the Eureka Police Department was made aware of alleged violent threats made towards a government building and its staff in Eureka.
In previous information released by EPD, "Ward specifically threatened to shoot up the government building, its staff, and anyone around wearing a mask. "
I checked this morning and no charges are being filed in the case, according to the DA's office. I have contacted District Attorney Maggie Fleming for further comment.
I also contacted Mr. Capps who reached out to the DA's office and confirmed Ward is not being charged. Mr. Capps said, "we will be seeking return of his property."
