Local Cloney's pharmacies bought by CVS?

 

Just received this information. 

A regular reader who has given me several tips over the years was told "by a friend, via one of their delivery drivers, that the Cloney’s pharmacies have been sold to CVS. "

On Saturday, CVS confirmed that they have bought local Cloney's pharmacies. I also reached out to the Cloney family. They also confirmed the news. I have known the Cloney family for years. The pharmacies had a change in ownership years ago. This decision is based on several factors for the past two years.

The reader expressed this concern,  "I expect that CVS will close those locations to minimize competition. Cloney's as you know is a century old Humboldt institution, and losing them will mean no local home deliveries of medicines. This will greatly impact many people that have relied on that service, quite a few I know personally."

Contrary to the information the tipster has, I know that CVS , at least some local locations offer delivery.
