Convicted human trafficker David Anderson jury trial was rescheduled for February 8. At trial assignment today, during the first call, Anderson's attorney, Mr Michael Acosta said there was no resolution and the jury trial was "a go." Defense had made another offer.
Deputy District Attorney Roger Rees appeared on the case for Deputy DA Stacey Eads this morning. She has been in another courtroom since yesterday dealing with a hearing regarding a sexually violent predator.
Mr. Rees said "there were potential issues regarding the content" of the questionnaire submitted by Mr. Acosta. Judicial intervention was requested.
Around 10:15, the court took a mid morning break and is consulting with staff on courtroom availability and there will be a second call.
When we returned from break, audio was working but no visual and other issues with livestream so Judge Wilson had to call tech. Livestream had to be restarted and participants had to call in again.
Mr. Rees asked for Ms. Eads to come down.
11:59 trial assignment is still going on; they went offline to discuss matters.
The Anderson trial is scheduled on Monday. It is trailing the Dittmar jury trial. If that case resolves, Anderson is the next trial in line to proceed.
