Maybe Jonathan Palmer can hire Andrew Stunich as his lawyer?

I have been busy this week, as you can tell from my court coverage or would have posted information on this arrest earlier, including the fact that Jonathan Palmer isn't just some guy. He should have known better. Palmer owns North Coast Legal Support LLC.

Jonathan Lyndon Palmer was arrested by HCSO and booked for PC 171 (b), unauthorized possession of a weapon in public buildings or  meetings, on February 16. He was booked on a felony charge and released on OR.

His office is across the street on 5th and I. There is no excuse to have a weapon and a magazine in his backpack, even if he was in the courthouse for official business. The second floor is closed with limited exceptions. The clerk's office is closed to the public. Whatever papers he had to deliver, his office is literally a few steps away.

Palmer claims to be familiar with law and court procedures yet there were some issues raised in court in the Brian Leiteritz case about improper service of papers. In confidence, others have shared information and their experiences with me about using Palmer's service.

Palmer does read my blog. I was the only one to cover Andrew Stunich's arrest on a similar charge and I covered that case extensively. That weapon was also discovered by security.  The Andrew Stunich defense and explaination did not work for Stunich.

Wonder what other consequences Palmer will face  besides the suspension of his concealed and carry permit?

In California, it is crime for a person to bring or possess certain weapons into public buildings and meetings open to the public. The offense can be charged as a misdemeanor or a felony, and carries a sentence of up to 3 years in jail.

I have had several interactions and conversations with Palmer myself and chose to no longer associate with him for years. I  have had conversations about Palmer  with other people, including people who  no longer do business with him.

A lawyer and a process server arrested for breaking a California law and yet with all the criminals, alleged or convicted, that go through that courthouse every day, there has never been  this problem with any of them.
