At trial confirmation this morning for murder suspect Demetrius Coleman, jury trial scheduled for September 28 was confirmed by both the People and the defense.
Ms. Andrea Sullivan is Coleman's attorney. DA Maggie Fleming appeared on the case for the People.
There is some additional discovery Ms. Sullivan needs to pick up. Due to the fires in the area, Ms. Sullivan has not been able to pick the discovery up yet. She said, "unless there is something unforseen" in that discovery, she is ready to proceed to trial.
Coleman is charged with murder and special allegation that he personally and intentionally discharged a firearm which caused great bodily injury or death to Johnny Renfro.
Time estimate is four weeks.
