Jury trial for murder suspect Demetrius Coleman scheduled for September


Arraignment on information was completed for murder suspect Demetrius Coleman this morning.

While he was held to answer to charges after the preliminary hearing, Judge Timothy Canning said the evidence wasn't very strong against Coleman. Charges for jury trial are the same.

Ms. Andrea Sullivan is Coleman's attorney. Time was not waived. Trial confirmation is on September 9; jury trial is on September 28.

Coleman  is  charged with murder and special allegation that he personally and intentionally discharged a firearm which caused great bodily injury or death to Johnny Renfro.

Deputy District Attorney Stacey Eads appeared on the case for the People.
