Uber or Lyft may temporarily suspend service in California starting this Friday in California

Instead of complying with AB5, Uber and Lyft say they may temporarily suspend service in California at 12:01 a.m. on Friday. If that happens, they plan to keep cars off the road until at least November, when voters weigh in on Proposition 22.

8/20 update: An appeals court granted Uber and Lyft an injunction while the companies case against AB 5 makes it way through the court process so for now, Uber and Lyft will continue operations in California.
