Ray Christie defense motions granted, jury trial rescheduled for May

Trial confirmation was rescheduled for Ray Christie before Judge Christopher Wilson this morning. There was also a motion to dismiss and a motion to return property on calendar.

Jury trial was rescheduled for May 4; trial confirmation is on April 13.

Motion to return property was granted. Defense will prepare an order stipulating that the property will be returned after the People can download secondary evidence.

Motion to continue was granted based on the "intended filing" by defense to dismiss the felony charges.

Defense is requesting a continuance since they are waiting on transcripts from the jury trial. Christie entered a time waiver.

Jury misconduct is one of the reasons mentioned in motion to dismiss. The motion is filed citing Penal Code 1118.1 asking for an "entry of judgment of acquittal for insufficient evidence."

Deputy District Attorneys Adrian Kamada and David Moutrie are the prosecutors for the case. Mr. John Cogorno and Mr. Ken Bareilles are Christie's attorneys.
