After getting into a fight, machete wielding Phelix Roby violates probation
On January 3, 2020 at about 9:50 p.m., officers with the Eureka Police Department responded to the 1500 block of 5th Street for the report of a fight possibly involving a weapon outside of a bar.
Officers located both involved parties at the 1300 block of 5th Street. The suspect was identified as Phelix Roby (39 of Eureka). Roby was not compliant and was taken into custody after a brief struggle.
Based on the investigation, it appears Roby stuck the victim with a machete after being asked to leave the bar. The victim followed Roby down the street and punched him in the face causing injuries. The victim received moderate injuries and later self-transported to the hospital. Roby also received moderate injuries and was transported to the hospital for medical clearance. Once cleared, Roby was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility for assault with a deadly weapon, resisting arrest, and probation violation.
