On January 8th, 2020, at approximately 12:40 p.m., Humboldt County Drug Task Force (HCDTF) special agents served a search warrant at a room inside the Bear River Casino Motel, 11 Bear Paws Way, Loleta.

Agents received information that Casey O’leary Menanno (age 36) and Brittany Dianna Thompson (age 31) were dealing large amounts of heroin from their room.

Agents were able to locate Menanno in a parked vehicle in the casino parking lot and he was detained without incident.  Agents then proceeded to the motel and were able to detain Thompson without incident.  Agents searched Menanno’s vehicle and located a loaded .40 caliber handgun, small amounts of controlled substances, 33 pounds of manicured marijuana bud, and approximately $5,000.00 in U.S. currency.

Agents discovered the handgun was previously reported stolen to the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office.  Inside Menanno and Thompson’s motel room agents seized nearly a pound of suspected heroin, digital scales, and other packaging materials.  The above-mentioned currency is believed to be profits from narcotics sales and was seized pending asset forfeiture proceedings.

Both Menanno and Thompson were transported and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility for possession of narcotics for sales and weapons violations.
