Round 2 Timm vs Reavis, winner the alleged victims in Mark Dare's molestation case

Resetting of alleged molestor Mark Dare's jury trial was scheduled on January 9. Public Defender Marek Reavis wanted another trial setting in 6 weeks. Alleged victims are his stepdaughters.

The excuse? Basically, the same argument that defense lost when the motion to suppress was denied. And today, that ploy to keep delaying this trial failed.

"Based on the discovery, we have to engage in hiring experts. We have requested funding for a computer forensics expert," said Mr. Reavis.

"The People are asking that trial dates be set today," said Deputy District Attorney Whitney Timm. "We were set for trial in December. Four days into jury selection, Mr. Reavis was not ready. The Court ruled that the People's discovery was not late. The victims were psychologically prepared."

Judge Christopher Wilson agreed with Ms. Timm about the victims being psychologically prepared and the trauma they go through with the trial and the delays. He told Mr. Reavis that his office needs to put a priority in hiring the experts.

Judge Wilson set another trial setting was set in three weeks on February 6.

Despite being held to answer at his preliminary hearing, the same Visiting Judge who presided over that hearing reduced Dare's bail in February 2018. Dare has been out custody for almost two years and the defense has requested several delays.
