Sexually violent predator convicted of spousal rape being retried

(booking)

Sexually violent predator Scott Eden was convicted and sentenced in 2003. His case was reopened and the second trial was in the middle of jury selection. Nine days into the jury trial, jurors were sent home. Trial setting is scheduled for January 22.

The case is old and court records are limited with the new system. The DA's office just turned over discovery to defense that they thought had been purged. A new jury will be selected.

Deputy District Attorney Stacey Eads is the prosecutor for this case. Deputy Public Defender Wade Orbelian is Eden's attorney.
