8 week trial estimate for Manila homicide case

Jury trial scheduled for January 21 was confirmed for three suspects in the Manila  homicide today.

Hector Godoy-Standley is represented by Mr. Russ Clanton. Brandon Mitchell is represented by Ms. Andrea Sullivan. Tamara Thomson is represented by Mr. David Nims. Cesar Valenzuela is represented by  Deputy Public Defender Casey Russo. Ms. Sara Zalkin appeared in court today for Ms. Sullivan and Mr. Clanton.

However, Hector Godoy-Standley has an evidentiary hearing scheduled this Friday. Cesar Valenzuela case is "trailing". There could be more changes or possible resolutions.

Are you ready? he asked attorneys at the bench. Judge Christopher Wilson briefly met with attorneys privately. Time estimate is 8 weeks.

Catherine Fode and her attorney Neal Sanders were not present. She has already pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and is expected to testify for the prosecution  and sentencing is "trailing."Mr. Sanders is not filing a motion for her release unless the jury trial is continued

Deputy District Attorney Carolyn Schaffer is the prosecutor for the case. The victim is Tyson Claros.
