(Chapine)
(Stinson)
(Colegrove)
Stinson has six cases in the local court system. Besides the sex offense ,it includes two cases of battery on a cohabitating partner/spouse.
Robert Nathaniel Colegrove was arrested by EPD yesterday for PC290.018(a), convicted sex offender who is required to register based on a misdemeanor conviction or juvenile adjudication. Colegrove was booked and released on O.R. The charge is a misdemeanor.
Colegrove has 50 cases in the local court system including several parole revocations. Except for a couple of family support cases, the rest are criminal.
Generally speaking, if the underlying offense is a misdemeanor, then a failure to register is a misdemeanor. Once there's a misdemeanor 290 conviction, any subsequent 290 violation is a felony. The exception is transients; transients are required to register every 30 days, and a failure to register as a transient, regardless of the nature of the underlying offense, is a misdemeanor. Once there are two transient violations, it can be charged as a felony.
