"The decedent was lying on his back on a carpeted floor wearing pajama pants. He was not wearing a shirt or jacket. "


Deputy Coroner Charles Van Buskirk and CA DOJ Senior Criminalist Dale Cloutier who works at the Eureka Regional Lab testified this afternoon in David Kobak's jury trial.

When Deputy Coroner Van Buskirk arrived at the crime scene, "the decedent was lying on his back on a carpeted floor wearing pajama pants
He was not wearing a shirt or jacket. "

Fred Loftus was identified a couple of days later when his fingerprints were sent to the DOJ. Deputy Coroner Van Buskirk also arranged for Dr. Super to do an autopsy. Loftus was taken from the crime scene to Mad River Hospital where he was x-rayed. "The x-rays are typical procedure for someone who is shot," said Deputy Coroner Van Buskirk.

Mr. Cloutier examined the Marlin model 9 rifle, the magazine, 10 cartridges and one bullet from the crime scene. His testimony continues tomorrow.
