PG & E prep for cold front includes staffing, operations emergency centers and generators

PG&E meteorologists are expecting the cold front to move into Humboldt County tonight and will work southward into Mendocino and Lake Counties.  We are expecting power outages due to wind and rain and also on Thursday due to snow accumulation in the upper elevations.

PG&E is doing the following to prepare:

PG&E is mobilizing crews in Humboldt, Mendocino and Lake Counties so we can respond to outages safely and as quickly as possible. This means all yards will be fully staffed, with crews on call overnight, and equipment on-hand and ready to roll.

PG&E plans to activate our Operations Emergency Centers (OEC) this afternoon and that includes activating our district storm rooms in Eureka, Ukiah, Clearlake, Fort Bragg and Fortuna. If a transmission line is impacted, we have generators standing by at in Hoopa, Orleans, Petrolia, and Willow Creek to keep the lights on for customers.
