Stains that "appear to be blood" on David Kobak's clothing and shoes

EPD Sgt. Terry Liles was recalled by the People and he identified the body cam footage from the EPD Officer Heyne who was inside David Kobak's  apartment with fire and medical personnel. That video footage was played. You see them enter, move Fred Loftus' body so he is lying on his back, they administer life saving efforts to Loftus, are unsuccessful and leave. Officer Heyne remains in the apartment.

Deputy Public Defender Casey Russo had no questions for Sgt. Liles. You can see where they placed their equipment and what they did.

EPD Detective Amber Cosetti testified next.
She assisted with the search warrant and was assigned to collect evidence from Kobak's bedroom. The 9mm Marlin rifle, ammunition from a drawer and paperwork with Loftus' name on it was collected and booked into evidence.

Det. Cosetti followed EPD Officer Brian Ross to St. Joe's hospital, watched the blood draw on Kobak, then followed Officer Ross to the jail where she took custody of the blood draw, collected Kobak's clothing and booked these items into evidence.

Stains that "appear to be blood" were on Kobak's shirt near the stomach area, on the collar and left shoulder. There were stains on the left pocket of his sweatpants.

People have one more witness who is not available until next week so by stipulation the defense case will start after lunch today.
