A trooper with Iowa State Patrol stopped a sport utility vehicle on I 80 southwest of Des Moines on a traffic violation. The trooper searched the SUV after smelling a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.
The 32-year-old driver from Los Angeles was arrested on several drug charges. Three large duffle bags containing 258 pounds of THC edibles and five large duffle bags containing about 173 pounds of marijuana.
The man used to live in Indiana and was transporting the 431 pounds to people he knew.
