Suspended license and odor of marijuana may get Melissa Parker charged with sales of heroin and meth


On October 9th, 2020, special agents with the Humboldt County Drug Task Force (HCDTF) were conducting surveillance on Melissa Parker (36 years old  from Eureka). 

Agents observed Parker driving a vehicle and confirmed that she had a suspended driver’s license. A deputy from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Department made a traffic stop on Parker in the area of Harris Ave. and K St. in Eureka.  The deputy contacted Parker and while the deputy was talking to Parker they could smell an odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Parker was detained for misdemeanor driving on a suspended license. 

Agents could see marijuana, a digital scale, and a “bong” in plain site in the vehicle. Agents conducted a search of the vehicle and located a half pound of methamphetamine, 1.5 ounces of heroin, approx. 2 pounds of marijuana, and a digital scale that had methamphetamine and heroin residue on the scale. 

Parker was released from the scene with a licensed driver to operate her vehicle. The HCDTF will be requesting the Humboldt County District Attorney’s Office charge Parker with the   following charges:

H&S 11378 Possession of methamphetamine for sale

H&S 11379 Transportation of methamphetamine for sale

H&S 11351 Possession of heroin for sale

H&S 11352 Transportation of heroin for sale

H&S 11360 Transportation of marijuana for sale

VC 14601         Driving on a suspended license
