Setting of jury trial and hearing on the 995 motion for Gary Cudney was scheduled this morning.
Deputy District Attorney Steven Steward is the prosecutor for this case. Mr. Manny Daskal is Cudney's attorney.
After the case was called, both attorneys indicated to Judge Lawrence Killoran that judicial intervention may be helpful so they went into chambers. Mr. Daskal is appearing remotely and said there were some tech issues.
People have made an offer of an open plea for Cudney to admit to Count 1 or Count 2 and the great bodily injury allegation.
The 995 was heard today. Judge Killoran is going to take the 995 and people opposition under submission and will have a decision next week.
Trial confirmation is on 2/8; jury trial on 3/1.
