Other media and anyone else watching the Demetrius Coleman trial today should thank me for alerting the court about tech issues.

Can't cover a court trial or proceeding if audio and camera is not turned on. Happened twice today. I had to take time out of covering the trial and other news, use relationships I have built over the years and be innovative who to contact to fix the problem.

We are 8 months into this pandemic and it is very frustrating because this happens a lot and with different judges. We have no access or way to reach anyone when there are issues. No access to court records and it is a lot of extra effort to cover courts these days. I still have to check on other cases with this trial being all day. Accuracy is affected when you cant hear or have access to information.

Despite my efforts, testimony and information was missed. Audio and video should be checked before the jury enters in every trial and it should be done with prior to every court proceeding.

There were 28 to 40 people watching this trial via livestream. That is the most people I have seen for any court proceeding, so far.
