Your taxpayer dollars were spent on a out of county expert who gave us a tour of Humboldt and where cell phone towers are located

John McCutcheon, a retired investigator from the Sonoma County District Attorney's office and now a private consultant doing cell phone analysis testified in the Demetrius Coleman case.

For an hour, we heard testimony about times, locations  and calls made and cell tower pings. Your taxpayer dollars were spent on an out of county expert to tell us where cell phone towers are located in Humboldt.  We also got to view Bayfront and Walmart on Google maps. How does this prove it was Coleman who shot Johnny Renfro?

We got an itinerary of where the cell phones analyzed were on August 29, 2019. One phone was found at the crime scene. Mr. McCutcheon could not "definitively say who followed who."

During cross examination, Mr. McCutcheon answered Ms. Andrea Sullivan's question by saying the precise location data he analyzed had been given the lowest reliability rating by the service provider.

Court ended early at 3:30 because the People, once again, did not have their next witness. The People's case is expected to conclude tomorrow morning. The defense has indicated that Coleman will testify.
