Better get used to trial by livestream for most court cases

Pre trial motions and a panel of five jurors were sworn in the Demetrius Coleman case yesterday. Jury selection resumes next week. With COVID 19, voir dire has not been open to the public. So far, those proceedings have not been livestreamed; just the jury trial.

As I previously reported, Judge Kelly Neel has been assigned to the case. Ms. Andrea Sullivan is Coleman's attorney. Deputy Carolyn Schaffer is the prosecutor for the case.

From Judge's remarks in courtrooms, it seems offsite trials will be the exception and public being allowed into the courtrooms isn't happening. In custody inmates will not be having offsite trials. I am assuming because it takes a lot of resources but also due to COVID 19 and the exposure of bringing it into the jail or transmission outside.
