Convicted sex offender Randy Knopf gets some time in prison, why would this time in custody be different?

Sentencing for convicted sex offender Randy Knopf was scheduled this morning. Judge Kaleb Cockrum sentenced Knopf to 16 months in prison. He has 124 days of custody credit. Minimum fines and fees were imposed due to inability to pay.  Knopf will be on parole after he is released from custody.

"Parole is going to be a benefit for Mr. Knopf," said Judge Cockrum. He cited Knopf being homeless and his mental disabilities as mitigating factors and miltiple failures to appear as aggravating factors.

Knopf has been arrested and failed to register many times. He has been in jail and prison before. As I mentioned before, being in custody does not faze Knopf. He has no remorse for his sex offense because he has said that to me directly.
