Marcelli's closing, other restaurants have staffing issues
Marcelli's Italian Restaurant on 5th street in Eureka is closing. Today is the last day according to one source; another source says this Friday. Staffing issues had been going on and according to a few people, the owners are not interested in operating the business anymore. The pizzeria closed in October 2018.
The Eureka location of Chalet had a sign up before Christmas saying they would be closed Wednesdays until further notice due to kitchen staffing issues.
The cook at Gill's by the Bay just quit; other waitstaff are picking up the slack.
Taco Brother's truck in Eureka has not been around every day lately.
Turnover in the restaurant and hospitality industry is common but in the last year or so, many family owned eateries have owners working to keep the place open due to staffing challenges.

Nobody wants to work!
ReplyDeleteEureka Glass in Arcata Closed,Why? No employable workers. That's a nice way of saying they can't find anyone who can stop gaming or set down their phone or even consider someone else has more experience and intelligence than they do yet still can't believe they can't get a job and move out of the house. Mom! Dad! Stop enabling your little stupid children and make them work!
