Sean Allman downloaded images from 4chan and sent it to a text group because he felt disrespected about his conservative views

Preliminary hearing scheduled for Sean Allman today started shortly after 11.

Allman is charged with Count 1 Terrorizing or Obstructing Exercise of Religion. Count 2 is Criminal Threats. Both counts pertain to the Episcopal Diocese of Northern California.

The first People's witness was Katherine Brack. She is the Director of Operations for the Episcopal Diocese of Northern California. The second witness was Fortuna Police Department Officer Lindsey Frank and the third witness on the stand right now is HSU Sgt. John Packer.

Cross examination by defense has been brief for the first two witnesses.

After lunch, Sgt. Packer is going to identify photos Allman sent to a Episcopal Pathways camp group that Allman participated in  2018. I saw two of the photos while Deputy District Attorney Whitney Timm was showing them to Mr. Ben Okin.

One was a photo that Ms. Brack described as "vivid images of bloodied people on the ground."

Officer Frank said that she was unable to contact Allman on June 14 at the addresses listed for him. He came in to Fortuna Police Department on his own later that day. At that time, Allman was "couch surfing" and had applied to the College of the Redwoods.

Allman told Officer Frank that he belonged to a text group and that they had not communicated in a year. He felt disrespected in that group and that they did not agree with his conservative views. Allman wanted to "upset them" so he researched mass shooters and sent four images to the group.

Allman told Officer Frank he did not have access to firearms.

During cross examination, Officer Frank said Allman told her he downloaded images from the 4chan site. The camp group believes in non violence. Allman believes that teachers should be armed to prevent mass shootings. Allman wanted to send something that would offend the group. He was also concerned about his mother's reaction to being at the police department.

Brack and Sgt. Packer both testified concerns had been expressed about Allman from other camp members prior to this incident. Brack and Packer testified about how they learned about the text messages and steps they took. Allman was arrested at a friend's residence after law enforcement obtained a Ramey warrant.

Nine local supporters, which includes one pastor, were in court to support Allman.

Allman's obsession with mass shooters, particularly the Columbine shooter, journal entries, google searches on how to purchase items on the dark web, a gif with "Hats off" and a shooter firing at people that was sent to the alleged victim and references to Columbine loadout were part of HSU police officers testimony this afternoon.
