Starbucks on Myrtle Avenue robbed, suspect fled with cash



Based on the investigation into the December 10, 2019 robbery of a coffee shop, Melbourne Miller (39 of Eureka) was identified as the suspect.  On December 11, 2019, at about 9:30 a.m., a Eureka Police Department Parks and Waterfront Ranger contacted Miller in the greenbelt near the 3300 block of Broadway in Eureka.   

Miller was taken into custody without further incident.  Miller was transported and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility for robbery, possession of a controlled substance, possession of paraphernalia, and probation violation.



On December 10, 2019 at about 9:40 a.m., officers with the Eureka Police Department responded to a coffee shop on the 1100 block of Myrtle Avenue for the report of a robbery that had just occurred.

It was reported that the male suspect used a note to demand money and threatened that he had a firearm.  He fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of currency.  Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the suspect. 

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male in his 30’s, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt or jacket with the hood up and black pants.  Anyone with information is asked to contact Senior Detective Ron Harpham at rharpham@ci.eureka.ca.gov or (707) 441-4305.
