More local jobs lost with Organic Valley looking to cut costs of business in California?



Organic Valley Milk with the slogan, "kid and cow approved" is looking to minimize cost of business in California, specifically Humboldt.

Two days ago, there was an emergency meeting in Fernadale where local dairy farmers met to discuss the impact on the local economy and jobs.

According to two sources, this is not a done deal. Organic Valley Milk has 90 days to "find a home" for local producers or look into shipping their products. Due to a glut of organic milk in the region, the company is exploring their options to help the local producers.

  1. Large part of the excessive cost in a region with over supply is excessive regulation by the state and county. The only way to fix a cost like that is to stop doing business in the region.
