Sexual battery suspect Elhadji Ba resolves his case before second jury trial

This afternoon jury selection was supposed to start for sexual battery suspect Elhadji Ba. Instead he resolved his case this morning with a conditional plea based on a grant of probation and up to 365 days in jail.

Count 1 was dismissed. Information was amended to add Count 2, false imprisonment as a felony and Count 3, battery as a misdemeanor.

If Ba complies with terms of probation for 12 months, Count 2 will be reduced to a misdemeanor. Sentencing is on January 7.
