Demetrius Coleman's trial leads to rescheduling of this homicide trial

Trial confirmation was scheduled on October 7 for murder suspect Brandon Watson. Jury trial for October 19 was vacated since his attorney, Ms. Andrea Sullivan is currently in trial in another homicide case for Demetrius Coleman.

Watson pulled his time waiver. Trial confirmation is scheduled for November 12; jury trial for November 30. The Watson case will trail the Coleman case.

Deputy District Attorney Roger Rees is the prosecutor for the case. The alleged victim's family wants to be present in the courtroom. They have expressed that a few times now and keep wanting the jury trial continued and reset for that reason.

Ms. Sullivan said Watson had been in custody for a long time. She objected to a continuance with an undetermined date. Ms. Sullivan said that with the current state of pandemic, there was no control the local courts have about pandemic related closures and changes. If accomodations could be made to allow the family and public to be present, Ms. Sullivan was fine with that arrangement.

Judge Timothy Canning reiterated court proceedings were being livestreamed.

Count 1 is Murder. Special allegation use of a deadly weapon, a knife. Victim Peter Triantos.

Count 2 is assault  a deadly weapon. Victims listed in complaint are Antony Besselieu-Hill and Brian Edwards.
